MHS Quiz Bowl
Competes in Hi-Q Tournament
The Minford High School Quiz Bowl Team recently completed in a Hi-Q tournament.
In the first round of tournament play, Minford defeated Wellston High School with a score of 255 to 70.
In the second round of play, Minford defeated Spring Valley High School, a school with a student body more than double the size of Minford, with a score of 225 to 170.
This win earned Minford a spot in the semi-final match played on January 29, 2011, where they lost to the undefeated team from Fairland High School.
By advancing so far in the tournament, the MHS Quiz Bowl Team earned $250.00 in cash and an automatic birth to the National Quiz Bowl Tournament scheduled to be held in Washington, D.C. later this year.
