Today, Tony Cavalier, from WSAZ presented our very own Anne Caudill and her Prom Committee with the Hometown Hero Award. The award was given because of the incredible amount of effort, time, and work it took Anne and her team to put on our "Star Wars" Prom.
Mr. Cavalier was also moved by the dedication of the prom to AJ Styles, who was a huge Star Wars fan. Rylee Gilliland had reached out to WSAZ prior to the prom to let them know about our theme and dedication.
While Mr. Cavalier was here, he interviewed several members of the prom committee, Anne, Ms. Minford, Lexi Conkel, Ms. River Days, Emily Cram, and me regarding the prom.
The National Honor Society Blood Drive was also included in Mr. Cavlier's tour of Minford High. Maggie Risner did an excellent job speaking on why we have blood drives...To give back to our community and save lives. Mr. Miller also made a cameo
Mr. Cavalier continued to shoot footage of our school. He toured the art room and spoke to several art students. He also shot footage in Mrs. Laxton's tech class where she was giving a great lesson on editing podcsts. Tony interviewed Gavin Downey about the power and profitability of Podcasts.
We also visited our AG and ASL students at the stadium where our students who are a part of the Junior Fair Board were awesome.
In addition, Tad Coriell and Aiden Dover from our Broadcasting team shot their own footage and were able to interview Tony Cavalier.
Overall, it was a great day showcasing some of the awesome things we are doing at Minford High School.
I am proud of all of our teachers, students, and staff members.
I say it often, but today is definitely a great day to be a Falcon. Talons Up!!!!
