MINFORD - Tehra Clevenger, elected school board member from the Minford Local School District, was presented with the Ohio School Boards Association's Aptitude Award.
Recognition took place during the Board of Education meeting on October 11, 2022. Ms. Clevenger was presented her award during the meeting by Kimberly Harless, member of the Southeast Region Executive Committee and a board member from Jackson City.
The Aptitude Award requires a board member to demonstrate an understanding and comprehension of a variety of board governance skills based on six leadership areas: vision, accountability, policy, community engagement, relationships and advocacy. To receive this award, board members must receive an 80% passing score on an online assessment.
The Aptitude Award is one of four levels of recognition that comprise the association's STAR Awards Program, which honors the work of school board members. The S is for Service, the T is for Training, and A is for Aptitude and R is for Recognition. A school board member who receives all four of these awards during a three-year period becomes a Master Board Member.
The Southeast Region is comprised of 18 counties, representing 84 school districts. For more information, contact OSBA of your local school board members.
